Research
Solutions and society-changing movements wouldn’t exist without the research to back them up.
There are plenty of people who like to pretend that researchers are just a bunch of empty-headed intellectuals doing stuff for their own amusement, or paid to do stuff by shadowy corporate or private interests.
But guess what? There are lots of genuine experts out there. People who are professional enough not to pretend they have all the answers, but who are much closer to proper answers than the many autocratic “kings” who pretend they know it all. Here are some of them:
