Welcome to myndHUB

This website aims to act as a hub connecting together all the organisations, groups, initiatives and campaigns that are trying — often very successfully — to make our world a better place.

Socially responsible people and organisations involved in social, ecological and climate-related activities that aim to improve the way we relate to each other and to our planet.

So we’ve collected together a whole bunch of references to websites that focus on social responsibility and planetary sustainability, both internationally and locally.

NB: We are well aware that this preliminary effort needs to evolve into something more practical, complete with filters, tags and other ways of differentiating what are currently long lists of information. But all projects have to start somewhere, and we’re currently working on a more complete solution.

#How to use myndHUB

First, we list sources of good news, reporting on all the positive things that are going on around the world – many of them ignored by mainstream media. Second, websites that propose solutions for many of the things most of us are worrying about. Third, links to the many courageous and individuals who report on social, political and technological happenings. Fourth, links to the research institutions that are doing so much to track and explain the changes to our society, climate and ecosphere. Fifth, links to courses, programmes and institutions where you can learn more about climate, society and human institutions. And finally, a section with useful tips for individuals and local communities.

If you can’t find something you’re looking for, do make use of the Search box on the left (above the menu). The search function is very powerful!

At present, this website is only published in English. But if people are ready to volunteer, we can turn it into a multilingual initiative!

#Contributing to the website

This website is embryonic: we have only included a small fraction of the many, many organisations doing good, positive, responsible work around the world. We’re assiduously collecting more references, and have big plans for the future of this website. But we welcome your input...

Yes, we welcome enthusiastic individuals and groups who’d like to provide details of initiatives, resources, organisations or other activities involved in boosting resilience and sustainability — locally, nationally or internationally. Please contact us if you’d like to make a contribution or join our team of volunteers.

#Verification and validation

As Judd Legum of Popular Information has reported, unfortunately there are people seeking power and influence out there who pretend to be interested in progressive projects and activities, but are actually spreading propaganda or raising funds on behalf of groups that only care about their own interests and profits. This is the opposite of socially responsible.

We do our very best to check our sources of information to ensure that the links we post here connect to genuinely progressive, socially responsible websites.

If you believe we’ve made a mistake, or have mis-described a link or links, please don’t hesitate to contact us and let us know.

Like to suggest links for inclusion in these lists? Have we made stupid mistakes? Tell us about them. Please note that all references will be carefully reviewed for suitability!

#International vs regional vs national

There are two things to say here: first, we’ve divided up almost every page of references (links) into “international” and “regional” sections. Eventually, we may have to give each region or country its very own page. And second, many of the organisations listed have both international and national representatives – so far, we haven’t attempted to provide lists of regional or local reps for international organisations, because you should be able to find them when you visit their international websites. But let us know if that doesn’t work for you!

And third: if you can’t find a specific region or country or area within a country, it’s not because we don’t care about that region or country...

... it’s simply because our resources are limited and we haven’t got around to updating what we know about that region or country yet. Talk to us about it! We take all inquiries seriously, and as we said before – we’re always on the lookout for keen new team members.

#Enjoy!

Eventually we will expand these lists into something more useful – our ultimate ambition is to build a hub that will highlight the relationships and synergies between thoughtful research and ingenious solutions. There are so many exciting things going on out there!
